Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you are interested in adopting Riley, please go to our website at www.FloridaYorkieRescue.com and fill out an online adoption application.
Riley is a 6 year old male weighing a tiny 3.6 lbs. His owners were too busy to give Riley the attention he deserved and he spent most of his years in his crate. In December of 2008 he suffered a broken hind leg from being dropped. The leg was never repaired and has been literally dangling from his tiny body for almost 4 years. We cannot imagine the pain this poor boy must have been in. We named him Riley because it makes "courageous," and he certainly has shown us that he is that!
He had severe dental decay nor any vaccinations or basic vet care in years. In spite of his neglect he is a friendly little guy whose greatest joy in life (it seems) is having his belly rubbed! We were hopeful our Orthopedic surgeon could repair his leg, but it could not be save. Riley had to have his hind leg amputated but he is getting along quite well without it.
He has since been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and had his teeth cleaned. He is 100% healthy now and looking for his "forever" home. He gets along with other dogs as long as they are small. He is also housebroken for the most part but will use pee wee pads in the house.
