My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shay was rescued from a high-kill, gassing North Carolina shelter. He's about 2 years old and tested positive for feline AIDS. This is not a death sentence -- housepet AIDS cats live a normal lifespan and need no special care any different from any other feline companion. He needs to be an only cat or with another HIV+ cat, since longterm, other cats can contract HIV through bites, even play bites, so we don't support exposing a cat with perfect health, in general. Feline AIDS is NOT transmissible to people or other animals; it is exclusive to cats. But Shay is too sweet and friendly to be thought of as a special needs cat! He loves people and is the typical curious, chatty Siamese cat. We know we can find him a good home, as here in a rescue cattery, he has to be kept isolated in fairness to the other cats and their future owners. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us or stop by Colonial Heights Petsmart pet center any Saturday afternoon.
