Miss Mary Kay Doggie: So named because of her beautiful brown eyes appearing as though she is wearingeyeliner. She is originally a rescue at about age 2 and is approximately7 or 8 now and is beginning to gray around the mouth. She is high energyand LOVES to run. She is very fast and needs a large fenced yard to runin. She likes to play fetch, very good on road trips, likes to walk butpulls on the leash a little. Mary Kay is very good with babies andchildren and would do well in home where the children are old enough to run andplay with her or a young single person or couple that is active. She alerts toactivity outside the house. She likes to sleep in bed with you and cuddle, but hides under the bed from thunder and lighting or fireworks. She also allows you to bathe her. I am forced to re-home her because of my health. I suffered a back injury and can no longer exert the energy she needs. I love her too much to keep her idle when it is not her nature.
The right home for Mary Kay will have a large fenced yard, an active family, andlots of love and cuddles for her. By the way, she likes to crawl intoyour lap and take short naps with you. She weighs about 30 pounds andstands about 24 inches tall.
Be careful when you go in or out. She thinks it is a game to dart outsidewhen you are not looking, so be sure and command her “stay.” J

Rescue Group Info...
Chouteau Pound Pals is a 501c3 non-profit dog rescue organization. We started in May of 2009 to save dogs at our local city pound from being euthanized. We rescue stray and unwanted dogs and give them daily care, medical needs, spay/neuter them and adopt them out.
We are always in need of volunteers and donations. Foster homes are a critical need as it allows us to save more dogs until they can be adopted out to their forever home. We want to save as many lives as we can.
Our Mission Statement:
Chouteau Pound Pals exists for the sole purpose of helping homeless shelter dogs have a better life. We believe every dog should have an opportunity to be a beloved family pet. It is to this end we seek out every avenue to adopt out pound and shelter dogs rather than have them euthanized.
Chouteau Pound Pals is dedicated to improving the lives of our homeless canine friends by providing prompt medical care, good nourishing food, lavishing them with love & affection, all while trying to find them good permanent homes.
Give us your stray, your scraggly, your lonely dogs dying to be loved, the lost puppies who’ve been dumped, send these, the homeless, the lost of your neighborhood to us. We lift our food bowls beside the rescue door.
We still believe that dog is man’s best friend!
Please call and make an appointment to view our dogs. We are always available after 5 p.m. and on weekends, and sometimes during the week before 5 p.m.
Our adoption fees are $75.00 which includes spay/neuter and vaccinations. We require an adoption form to be filled out and approval by our Adoption Committee.
