Hi, I'm Petey! I was abandoned at a local shelter when I was only 8 weeks old because I was born without any external genitalia. Basically, this means I was born without a penis. But I don't know there's any difference - I can still go potty just like I'm supposed to and I'm healthy as can be! I'm really glad that the nice people at ITP rescued me because I don't think I deserved to be dumped at the shelter just because I was born a little differently. Everyone who meets me says that I am such a handsome little guy and that I sure do deserve a special forever family to call my own! We are located in the San Diego area and pull dogs from southern California shelters and we assist families in rehoming their pets so that they don't have to go to a shelter.
I started doing rescue because I couldn't stand to see adoptable dogs being euthanized due to lack of an immediate home. I knew that I could find them good homes.

Potential families are asked to complete or Adoption Application before visiting our dogs. We introduce you and your family including any other dogs/cats in your family to our adoptable dogs. If the meeting is a good match we will schedule a home check to ensure that the home is a good match for the pet that you have selected. You will then be asked to complete our Adoption Agreement and to finalize the adoption there will be a processing fee to adopt a pet from us. All proceeds go directly back to help support our rescue and there are no paid employees so all fees are used for our pets waiting to be adopted.
