Katie's Story...
FOSTER LOCATION: Boise ID

Katie is a 70 pound, 9 year old Husky mix who is in search of a new home and Fuzzy Pawz Rescue stepped in to help out.

This beautiful girl is really smart and listens very well. She knows “sit”, “stay”, “lay down”; will stay and wait to be released and will wait to take a treat until you tell her she can “take it”, she also knows that “go to bed” means it’s time to go to her kennel. If you have a treat in your hand she will sit without being asked and wait until you tell her she can “take it”. Katie is one smart cookie and there are no limits to other things you could teach her – despite what they say you really can teach an old dog new tricks. Katie is good with other people, but is not an “in your face” kind of dog – she likes to be with you and pet but is not a lap dog. She loves to be outside and smart dogs can get bored if not stimulated so daily walks and interactive games would be wonderful.

While she likes people young and old alike she does need to go to a home with no kids under 10 as she is older and will not tolerate hair pulling/being a pillow, etc.

Katie is an inappropriate chewer and will get into the trash if you are not careful about it. So she should not be left alone in the house unless she is crated – she really likes Nylabones and will go through one in 4-6 months, but if left alone and uncrated she will chew other items. These traits most often come from boredom so again interactive games and long walks to tire her out will help greatly. Katie also does not get along very well with other dogs, she won’t go out of her way to attack one (like on walks she is okay) but does not like having another dogs in her household.

Katie is spayed, fully vaccinated and full medical records will be supplied.

If you have a dog free home and are looking for an intelligent, beautiful dog companion please complete an adoption application at http://www.fuzzypawzrescue.com/adoptionapplication.htm

There is a $25 adoption fee for Katie – but she is eligible for our Senior for Seniors program.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katie, a Boise Siberian Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siberian Husky for sale in Boise, or seeking a Siberian Husky dog from a breeder in Boise.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boise already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boise breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siberian Husky breeders who help with Siberian Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boise paves the way for another one to be saved.
