Jelly's Story...
Jelly seems like one of those cats that wouldn't mind being pet forever, and really that wouldn't be a bad thing for either party - Jelly would get the affection she so richly deserves and you would get the opportunity to continually run your hands across Jelly's soft fur with its' beautiful markings. A win-win situation for all involved! As you might have surmised, Jelly loves to be petted especially if it involves head rubs, chin scratches, and rubbing the area right above her tail! Jelly also likes taking up residence in vacant laps where she encourages more petting with gentle head-butts and rewards your petting with loud purrs of happiness! On occasion, when Jelly is really happy she's been known to lick your fingers!

Jelly enjoys holding conversations with her people; especially enjoying conversations where eye contact is made. She feels like these conversations are just another way to express your love to one another! Jelly is a pleasure to listen to with her squeaky meow voice! Don't be alarmed if you see yourself being followed by a cat silhouette...our affectionate gal just seems content being near her people and will often times follow you from room-to-room to keep you company.

Jelly's almost zen-like in her calmness...except when she is playing! She loves batting at feather toys and strings. She'll also pursue balls that cross her path. Jelly came across some catnip toys and not only took an interest in them but she plopped herself down in the basket they were sitting in and ended up taking a nap amongst all of the toys...a nap or did she pass out from the overwhelming levels of catnip in her system...we'll give her the benefit of the doubt and call it a nap!

Jelly is a sweet, loving girl who would make anyone a wonderful companion. Come see for yourself - fill out an application to meet Jelly today - www.azrescue.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jelly, a Phoenix Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
