Bruce's Story...

DOB  06/10 Hi my name is Bruce I was found walking down the street in the Dells with my mom and siblings. They have all since been adopted. As you can see I am bigger now and still here. That could be because I am selective with whom I get close too. I am very handsome and smart. I am not very fond of other cats and I like to take the highest vantage point whenever possible. I need to be the only cat in my kingdom (aka home). I can be very affectionate but only on my terms. I have a huge purrsonality and will need a home where someone can give him some patience while I inspect my new kingdom. I love to run and play. Please give me a chance. I just need to get used to you. I would be great in a home with a small dog. No kids or other cats and only certain men.

About Happy Endings No-Kill Cat Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Happy Endings is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), no-kill organization run solely by volunteers who have been saving lives since 1994. It is the mission of Happy Endings to find permanent homes for unwanted, stray, abused or feral animals that are brought to us or rescued from the street.

Happy Endings provides a safe haven for feral, stray, abused, neglected, unwanted and critically injured cats. We care for cats that are sick and provide homes for all cats until they are ready to be adopted. Animals are never euthanized by Happy Endings for convenience sake, but only when, in a veterinarians professional opinion, It is in a state of terminal suffering.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters must fill out an application and go through an interview. Our adoption facilitators walk them through the shelter and help them find the perfect animal that would best match their homes. After a potential adopter signs up for a specific animal, there is a cool-down period.

We do veterinarian reference checks and follow-up telephone calls on Mondays to make sure the potential adopters are still interested. After the telephone interview has taken place, a home visit is set up and the selected animal is delivered to it's new home.

Our adoption fees are $85 for one cat or kitten and $130 for two cats or kittens. The adoption fee includes various procedures which have already been performed, such as:

  • Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency virus tests
  • Distemper shots
  • Rabies Booster
  • Preventative Dewormer
  • Spay or neuter for all cats at least 6 months of age or older
  • An adoption folder complete with an "Animal Health Log Sheet" containing the cat's health history.

Under no circumstances do our animals leave the shelter the same day they are signed up for.
