Speck's Story...
How did I get the name “Speck”? Well, when you meet me, you’ll see that I have a little tiny speck of color on my nose. You may just want to “boop” my nose with your fingertip when you see me. I’m a grey and white tabby, and I’m a friendly and playful sort. You may even say I’m mischievous. But I have my quiet moments, too. I’m enjoying time in my foster home with all of my siblings, but I’m anxious to find a forever home of my own.

For more information about me, or about FOHA's adoption process, contact my volunteer friends at 703-385-0224 or adopt-a-cat@foha.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Speck, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
