Preston is a 6-8 month old puppy that is a Pit bull –Mastiff mix who should be larger than the average Pit Bull mix at maturity at 70-80lbs. DDR rescued him from the South LA shelter. He likes to play with other dogs and is super friendly with people. He is learning how to walk on a leash and is being crate-trained. He has a calm, thoughtful temperament for a puppy. He is confident and eager to please both dogs and humans, including senior dogs. With dogs closer to his age, he is a playful dog! Unfortunately, his former owner cropped his ears and never treated his broken front leg as a very young puppy. His leg and wounds have long since healed and he was given a positive prognosis by two veterinarians that examined him. With his bad start in life far behind him, his future is bright for a loving forever home. Call Downtown Dog Rescue to meet Preston 818-407-4145 or apply online at www.downtowndogrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Preston, a Los Angeles Mastiff/Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Mastiff/Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Mastiff/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
