Sugar & Baby's Story...
Sugar is the gorgeous blue Quaker, and his friend Baby is the pretty green Quaker. These two beauties need to be adopted together, since they live in the same cage and are best friends. Both are cage territorial, which is fairly normal for a Quaker, but they are willing to come out of the cage when the door is opened.

Baby says "Hi, Baby" and will step up from the floor. Sugar is working on stepping up but has a little ways to go. Sugar and Baby love toys that are wooden or ones that have a bell. Their favorite treat is sunflower seeds.

If you have the time and patience to work with these two, they'd love to have a new forever home.

Sugar's and Baby's approximate hatch date is 2007, and the adoption fee is $200 for both birds.

For information on some of the characteristics of this bird, see this Species Profile page: http://www.staravian.org/species_profiles_cont.html#Quaker_Parrot

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sugar & Baby, a St. Louis Parakeet - Quaker was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Parakeet - Quaker for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Parakeet - Quaker from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Parakeet - Quaker breeders who help with Parakeet - Quaker rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
