My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Daisy is like a bright ray of sunsine, always happy and eager to please. With her curly tail, floppy ears and bright brown eyes, Daisy loves to be the centre of attention. Daisy is a cell dog meaning that she has been involved in the prison training program and knows her basic commands. She is a young girl under a year old and weighs approximately 45 – 50 lbs.

Here is what else her foster dad had to say:

Daisy is great with other dogs, always friendly & sociable. With her outgoing personality, Daisy attracts attention wherever we go, especially from little kids, who always love to pet Daisy. While on leash, Daisy is always well behaved around children & adults but should be watched when off leash just to make sure she doesn’t accidentally hurt anyone during her bursts of excitement. Daisy has never shown any aggression towards anyone. In fact, I’ve heard her bark only a handful of times and in those cases it’s been a only a single bark. She shows no shyness towards people. On the contrary, she loves all the attention she can get!

Daisy is great around other pets, even cats. She has befriend both my cat and a neighbourhood stray. I have to say, it’s pretty cute to see them cuddling together. While on walks Daisy is well behaved although cautious around larger dogs until properly introduced.

Daisy has shown no signs of separation anxiety while in my care. She has been very well behaved while alone in the apartment,. No barking, destructive chewing, nor urination/defecation have occurred. She seems well adapted to the sights and sounds of city living. Daisy has a moderate level of energy. As long as she is walked and permitted to have some exercize & play time, she is content spending much of the day relaxing, lying on the floor, chewing her bone and napping. At this time Daisy is moderately shedding. Australian Shepherd Dogs, of which Daisy is half, shed their coats once or twice a year. As she ages, a beautiful red undercoat is coming in, such that when the light hits her, a gorgeous red glow can be seen under the white of her top coat.

Daisy loves going on long walks and running at the dog park but her favourite game is a combination of tug-o-war and fetch. She gets along great with other dogs and loves to run and play with her doggy friends at the park. Daisy knows basic commands such as sit, come, stay, down, and shake paw but would definitely benefit from further training. Daisy is fully house trained and has not had a single bathroom accident while in my care. Daisy has been crate trained but I am currently not using the crate as I can always trust Daisy not to get into any trouble. Daisy has excelled in her leash training and learns more with each day. She is always on her best behaviour when on leash. With a little more work she will be a pro in no time.

Daisy is small enough to make a good apartment dog as long as she gets proper exercise and mental stimulation. She would also do well as a second dog as I can see her really benefiting from having an older dog to model her behaviour on. Daisy has a great personality. She is friendly, loyal, outgoing and would make an excellent addition to the right family.
