Miss Electra's Story...
I Am The Reason for Feline Rescue

“Come in! Come in! I know you’re there, and I would like to know you – and know your people-ness – your human-ness.  I am the reason for Feline Rescue. I am Miss Electra. I am as sweet and innocent as a girl can be. I’m less than two years old, and I am hoping for all nine of my lives because there is so much to sniff and study and play with in this world that I will need all nine to do all that I hope to do."

“Without Feline Rescue – or people just like these people, I wouldn’t have a chance. You see, I’m playful and cute and all the things a cat can be – but – I am blind – born with tiny eyes that don’t work – and I picked up the FIV, very possibly from my mom. So come carefully to me because I won’t see you coming. If you want to hold me, I’d like it, but it scares me when I’m picked up because I can’t see where I’m going – or with whom – or why. What if you’re not a kind and friendly person – but a grizzly bear? I’ll smell you carefully – one whiff of bear-ness, and I’ll be leaving.”

“I’m a little black and white girl, more black than white, so I’m told. Not sure what black and white are, but people tell me they are colors that look good on a small cat. I wash myself thoroughly and carefully because I can’t be sure when I’m clean. Better to clean too much than too little – I certainly don’t want to smell like a bear!”

“Yes, I move around just fine, and I play with toys. I even jump to moving toys. I feel the motion, and my feet are fast. I use my nose and my whiskers and my feet and got myself through a good year of life on my own. So I’m quite well self-taught – and pleased to be so. I love to be petted. When you pet me, I know I’m with friends. It is good.”

“No I don’t have a white cane – just white feet. And, no, I don’t have a service dog, either. But the idea of a tiny girl cat being guided around by a big old chocolate lab does amuse me. Maybe I could just ride on his back! That’s Miss Electra’s story – all of the truth that there is. Now that I’m sure you’re not a bear – definitely kind human scents coming from you, how about adopting me? I’m available for only $120. I’m kind and clean and loving – just as a cat should be.”

Our Adoption Process...
By adopting a Feline Rescue cat you will be supporting a caring, no-kill shelter and making room for one more homeless cat. We are always looking for good, safe, loving homes for our many cats and kittens. We want to be sure placements are a success for both parties, so before we send our feline friends home with anyone, we ask you to fill out a basic questionnaire. Since we work with cats everyday we will be able to suggest a perfect match to your needs. If a sponsorship fits your schedule better, you may support a cat of your choice and we will send you pictures and updates. All of our cats are feline leukemia/FIV tested, fecal tested, neutered/spayed, vaccinated and all of our kittens are vet checked, fecal checked and given their first set of shots. All receive high-quality veterinary care and exams. We charge an adoption fee to offset these costs. Adoption Hours: We are open seven days a week for adoptions, but our hours do vary because we are staffed entirely by volunteers. Call (651) 642-5900 for specific times and more information.
