Chaparra's Story...
A familiar face on the streets of Mexico I earned the name Chaparra, which is spanish slang for 'short girl'. Now I hope you don't think that's meant as an insult….it's totally a term of endearment. I may be short on leg, but I'm tall on love! I'm the type of gal who'll love to follow by your side, I'm sweet and loyal…I'll wanna stick to you like glue. I can hang out with your other dogs, or your respectful children…plus all the socialization will really give my confidence a boost! As your an imagine, living on the streets was pretty rough…I've been bruised and battered, hungry and lonely…but my luck has changed, and I know I am well on my way to a brand new life. One where I will get all the love, attention, care and commitment that I deserve. 18 months old-20lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and includes; microchip, spay, reduced cost Training Class, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chaparra, a Portland Corgi/Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Corgi/Basenji for sale in Portland, or seeking a Corgi/Basenji dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Corgi/Basenji breeders who help with Corgi/Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
