I am already spayed and up to date with shots.
This dog was found as a stray and the owners cannot be located. She is very sweet and has gotten attached to her main caretaker, who is a 13 year old girl. She is shy/cautious when first meeting someone new but warms up. She prefers women, but
tolerates men. She becomes protective of who ever is holding her and might not be the best dog to have with small children. If she is not being held, she tolerates children and even follows them around, and even lets them hug her. So this is probably an issue that can be corrected with training. She growls at but pretty much ignores her foster bother, a pit bull but so far they have not encouraged lots of contact. He is a very
low energy dog, very large. She is estimated to be around a year or two old.
Training
She had a few accidents in the house, but will go to the potty outside
if taken often. She needs to be taken out often and then it's not an
issue. She doesn't chew on things, but likes bones. She will sit, but
not every time.
Physical
She is on the large end of the breed. She is not spayed, though will be when adopted. All of our adoptable animal companions are in foster homes. If you would like to meet this pet please email rassami@hfhaf.org. Before we arrange a personal meeting with one of our dogs we ask that you fill out an adoption application that we will send to you. We would like to determine that this pet will be a good fit for your family. Before you take home your new pet, a home visit is also required. If you live outside of the Fresno area, we can still arrange a home visit. Our adoption/rehoming fee for each animal companion varies depending on a number of factors. HFHAF is run solely by volunteers so it may take us a few days to get back to you.

Rescue Group Info...
Humanity for Healthy Animals Foundation (HFHAF) is an animal welfare charitable non-profit organization, Tax ID # 45-0678079. Although we can accept donations, host fund-raising events, and apply for grants, we are waiting for our 501(c) 3 application to be reviewed and approved. The Humanity for Healthy Animals Foundation’s mission is to promote the humane treatment of all animal companions, and to reduce the number of homeless animal companions in the City of Fresno.
Our Services:
1. To promote the health and well-being of the City of Fresno’s animal companions, HFHAF will provide educational assistance to its residents on how to keep their animal companions healthy and safe.
2. To initiate and support various health-focused activities and/or projects.
3. To help reduce the number of homeless animal companions at our overcrowded local shelters, HFHAF will promote foster and volunteer programs that are already in place at local rescue groups. We will seek assistance from reputable low-kill rescue organizations statewide and surrounding states.
4. To help address the dog and cat overpopulation problem in the City of Fresno, HFHAF will partner with local veterinarians to promote subsidized spay and neuter, vaccinations, and micro-chipping.
We exist to help relieve the pressure on our local animal shelters by providing the general public with information and resources to ensure their animal companions are properly cared for.
HFHAF was established to help address the animal welfare issues in the San Joaquin Valley of California. Given that we are a brand new organization, our current resources will be focused primarily on serving the residents of the City of Fresno and their animal companions. Our long-term goal is to extend our services to the surrounding cities in Fresno County and beyond. Therefore, our programs and services will be offered in phases.
Fees depend on whether animal is already spayed or neutered. Application and contract must be filled out and singed. Home visit required. Pet must be adopted as part of the family. No outside only animals are adopted out.
