My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WE ARE SORRY BUT WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA

This sweet girl was abandoned and found lying in the road where she could barely lift her head. She was nursed back to health and was able to stand and walk on her own after a few days. She is initially very timid and wary but will warm up to you once she feels she can trust you.

Nova is submissive girl that gets along with other dogs, male and female. When scared or if another dog shows signs of aggression toward her, Nova's defense mechanism seems to be to just sit down and look at you, as if she is asking for guidance on what to do, if it is all right to go on, and for help.

Nova is a calm, mellow Husky for her age, probably the result of what she went through in her previous life. She doesn't get overly excited and jump all around when she meets people, preferring to sniff and take her time getting to know and trust you. Nova will need an owner with patience and understanding so that she can learn to trust again.

Nova’s left eye has a birth defect causing limited vision but she gets around fine and shows no sign that she is bothered by it. She is keen on making friends with other dogs, even to the point of indicating interest in her own reflection on the TV screen. Nova has a very high prey drive....loves to chase geckos. She is not cat friendly.

Nova is housebroken and crate trained, but may not need a crate once she learns the house rules and is settled in her new home. She is a chewer, and should be watched around toys. She chews up toys and it may be better to give her something digestible, like Greenies, just to be safe.

She is healthy, spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped, and up-to-date on shots. This girl started out with life stacked against her – why not show her what a loving, forever home is like? Fill out an adoption application on our web site, WWW.SIBERRESCUE.COM, today.
