My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aug 10/12- UPDATE- The puppies, Max and Sheldon, are doing great and their training is coming along very well. They are crate trained and sleep quietly in their crate at night or when we leave the house. They are also doing very well with housetraining and haven't had an accident in a while. They do well with routine and are taken out regularly. Each time they are taken out they "do their business" and are praised. Both are enrolled in a puppy socialization class and are enjoying it. They love meeting new people and will always snuggle up for pets and have many kisses to give. They now know "sit" and are working on other commands. They walk well on leash and are being taken out for regular walks either down our country road, in town, or on long wooded trails. They LOVE going for walks and can keep up for quite a distance. They also travel very well in the car and are quiet and settled for the ride. These pups will make WONDERFUL family pets. They are good with kids and other pets. They are active dogs but not hyper in any way. They are smart and quick learners. They are being raised in a loving home where their socialization and training is a priority but they really need a home of their own and a family of their own to love them and care for them. Could this be your family?

These cute puppies were part of a litter of pups that were dumped in a ditch at the side of the road. Thankfully someone found them and called animal control that came and rescued them. Imagine, little baby puppies at the pound. How could we resist??? They are predominately Border Collie with a bit of Cattle Dog mixed in to give them some gorgeous speckled colouring on their legs. These pups will grow to be approximately 40-50lbs but that it’s our best guess from experience and obviously is not a guarantee. They should be a nice sized med/lg dog when grown, suitable for most households. These pups are energetic and very intelligent and will require an active family dedicated to training them properly and providing them with plenty of outdoor activity, play and love. They will grow to be very functional dogs suited for most activities and will be perfect dogs for anyone interested in dogs sports such as agility or flyball, or for joggers, hikers or outdoor enthusiasts. They will require puppy socialization class and obedience classes to grow up into well-mannered boys and they have all the smarts to excel at learning. We are already starting their training in their foster home so they will have a head start. They are being crated trained and this is going well. Of course, they are not yet housetrained but we have started them on the path to housetraining and they should have a good concept of it by the time they go to their forever homes. Anyone considering these puppies should have the time available to properly train a pup. They need to be taken out throughout the day so will not be suitable for homes at this point where someone works all day and cannot come home mid way through. Puppies require patience and a lot of attention and time spent with them. In return they offer you all kinds of puppy kisses, unconditional love and cute antics that make you laugh. These boys are big sucks and love time spent with people and have many kisses and snuggles to give. They are being fostered in a home with other dogs and cats and they are interacting well. They aren't being fostered with children but we have no concerns with them going to a home with kids provided they and the children are always supervised and taught how to interact properly together. We are looking for a home without infants or toddlers though as these pups are just babies themselves and need to be the focus of the attention now while they are young and learning. They need to be the babies of the family for now. They are being taken for car rides to get used to travel, they will be taken for leash walk to get used to the feeling of a leash, and they will be handled every day so they accept all forms of handling. These pups will have a great start in their foster home and just need a forever home to continue on and love them and play with them and offer them support through the many years ahead. They have been abandoned once already. They need a dedicated family this time around.

Max is a love! He is very much a people dog and thrives on human interaction. He is a beautiful tri colour with brown and black speckles on his legs and nose. Max is not as fearless as his brother Sheldon. He prefers to sit back and survey the scene for a bit before jumping in to the action. Once he is comfortable though he is a rough and tumble puppy just like his brother. Max is a good eater and is enjoying his food and the different snacks he's been offered. Max needs a family that will get him out to explore the world and build on his confidence. Max is a super friendly pup who we selected because of his loving temperament. Max loves snuggles and hugs and has many kisses to give. He will make a great family pet.
