Spike's Story...
Spike is a 6 year old male white mini who was an owner turn in because he didn't like the 13 year old son. We don't know what happened between the son and Spike. Spike does like to always be with someone. He gets along with other dogs where he is now. He would do best in a home where someone is home a great deal of the time and there are no small children. Preferably no children under 15-16 years old. Spike's adoption fee is $150 each and he has been neutered, had full panel blood tests done, be microchipped and up to date on all of his shots. We do prefer that you be within driving distance of Phoenix to adopt one of our dogs. If the adoption doesn't work out for some reason with in the first thirty days, the adoption fee is refunded upon return of the dog. Our contract states that during the life of the dog, should something happen that you can not keep any of our dogs, the dog must be returned to VSGSR. Should a family member wish to adopt the dog, they would be given first priority. We are responsible for our dogs for their entire life. If interested, please email us at phxgsrescue@hotmail.com for more information. Emailing is the best way to contact us as we are all volunteers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spike, a Phoenix Schnauzer (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
