My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sylvester. Black & white Maine Coon mix. Born April 2012.
Regular adoption fee: see below

This is a spectacular, delightful, energy, loving kitten. He's just a
gem. We found him at a local shelter when we went to pick up a pair of
little Ragdoll kittens. We saw this beautiful boy in a cage with three
other kittens and did a step back when we saw how beautiful he was. As
always we were overflowing with cats and kittens and we had to do some
juggling to figure out where he could go. We debated back and forth and
finally decided we could squeeze him in. We are so happy we did. His
looks are only half of the story.

It turns out that Sylvester was part of a special 4H project in Solano
County. Instead of raising a lamb, goat or steer to be slaughtered at
the end of the project, 4H kids in this group fostered kittens. Sadly,
at the end of this particular project, the kittens that weren't adopted
at the one Adoption Event had to be returned to the local high kill
shelter. We can't imagine how hard that must have been to wonder daily
if this special boy had been euthanized or if he'd found a home.
Thanks to our unknown 4H child, Sylvester has had a fabulous beginning.
Obviously he was handled, loved and played with and very well cared for.
He is healthy, solid and superbly socialized. He has loved being out of
a cage again, and runs from one end of the kitten room to another and
even gets up on top of six foot cages. He gets along with other cats and
kittens, we are not sure how he would do with dogs. We would expect that
he'd been fine with children who are as responsible as the youngster
that fostered him.
