My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Amazing what a week in a loving home can do!!! Poker turned out to be an awesome boy! He is all tail wags when his people come home from work. He loves walks, exploring his yard, rolling in the grass and getting attention. Poker wags his tail when we tell him that he is a "good boy" and he hears that a lot :-) He is well behaved in the house and great in the crate too. He knows the "sit", "down", "paw" and "high five" commands, we are trying to figure it out. He loves tummy rubs, toys, especially the antlers. Poker is an unusually nice boy, at some point he was obviously loved by someone. He has a gorgeous red coat and he enjoys to be brushed (and attention in general). He does great with other dogs and he met some kitties and he just politely sniffed them. It is a total mystery how a wonderful dog like him can end up at a shelter without a family looking for him. As so many animals he found himself out of time in a busy shelter and this is how he landed with us. Poker is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped and heartworm negative. He weighs around 45lbs. He is looking for a new family to share his life with, forever. If you cannot adopt him. he would appreciate an antler to chew on :-) Please keep in mind that pet ownership is a lifetime commitment.

It is our policy not to place our dogs into homes with young children since we don't have foster homes with young children to evaluate the dogs. The adoption begins with the adoption application: we do not have the manpower to respond to detailed inquiries before we receive the application. Our adoption procedures are described on the home page, please read them carefully. A donation of $275 is required at the time of adoption. If you can offer our sweet Poker a loving forever home, please submit an on-line application by
