Ursula's Story...
Ursula is a 8-9 year old 50# female Chow Chow who was rescued by one of our devoted fosters. She was found as a stray who had been living in a field. She was covered with dried dirt, sticker burrs and was extremely matted. She had to be completely shaved to restore her comfort and she was an absolute angel for her grooming - no fussing, no upset.

Ursula needs a home where she has open space to roam and the safety of a nice big yard for when she goes outside to 'sunbathe'. She would not do well in a kennel or confined room atmosphere. Ursula is house trained and knows how to use a doggie door. She is very quiet, does not bark or whine. Ursula would be a great dog for an older person.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ursula, a Schertz Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow for sale in Schertz, or seeking a Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Schertz.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Schertz already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Schertz breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow breeders who help with Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Schertz paves the way for another one to be saved.
