HI! I am Sprite! I have always been hungry and finally one day when it was still cold I went for a ride in the car (wow, that was scary!) and then...there I was...left at the local Rite Aid! I didn't know what to do so I meowed my very best to ask for help from the people coming and going but, I yelled all day and no one helped till finally after dark, someone came over to me, said 'kitty kitty' and took me home to foster. I was so grateful I purred all the way to her home! I have been happy here but would love to have a home of my very own! Please consider adopting me...I LOVE cat toys and spend my day playing and playing. I am just so happy to be safe and warm. I like other cats but sometimes I still get scared of them if they play too rough. Then I meow and run and hide. But otherwise, we get along fine and we play together sometimes. I am getting used to being held a little at a time and am very friendly to my foster mom and visitors too! Maybe I could foster at your home to see if you would like to adopt me?

If animals are listed as a rehome, they are posted as a service outside of Cat's Cradle's foster system to help owners find new homes for their animals. You will need to contact the owner directly. These animals are not part of our foster system. The owner's contact information will be listed in animal description.

Founded in 1998, Cat’s Cradle seeks to end euthanasia of healthy adoptable cats and dogs in Shenandoah Valley through aggressive spay/neuter of owned animals and TNR (trap/neuter/release) of feral cats.
We also have a network of foster parents and an active adoption program for cats. In 2009 we opened an adoption center in Harrisonburg. We do not euthanize for space.

We show our cats at PetSmart in Springfield, VA on most 1st and 3rd Saturdays, at the PetSmart in Harrisonburg, VA on some Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons, and at the Petsmart in Waynesboro on Saturdays. We also show cats at our adoption center at 124 S Main St. in Harrisonburg 11-6 M-F, and 11-5 Sat and 11-4 Sunday.

All our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, and fully vetted. We have an adoption center in Harrisonburg, but we also make extensive use of foster homes until adoption.
We generally prefer indoor only homes, and our contract specifies that the cat(s) will not be de-clawed.
We have some cats that cannot be adopted into an indoor situation. For these, we seek safe barn or out-building locations.
