Abby's Story...
INITIAL BIO 07/26/2012: MEET ABBY! This little angel hasn’t had such a happy and loving life before she came into UYR. Her surrendering owner rescued her several months ago from an abusive situation. Abby is only 2 years old and weighs 6.5 lbs; she is beig fostered in North Port, FL. When she first arrived at her foster home, she was shivering and shaking and hiding in the bedroom. But that was only the first night. Her loving foster parents allowed her to become comfortable and take her time getting adjusted, all the while giving her lots of kisses. On the second day, she became FM’s shadow and even slept next to her that night! What a difference loving and patient foster parents make!
Abby is a real cutie petutie! She is still shy and timid, and afraid of loud noises and rapid movements, so she can only be placed in an adult home for this reason. She walks nicely on a leash and is both house-trained and crate-trained (she loves her crate – it is her security blankie). Abby also loves the freedom of the backyard and curiously enough, loves to ride in the car! Abby is scheduled for a dental (she still has some puppy teeth) and spay surgery on 08-10 and after a period of recuperation, she will be ready for adoption. Do you have room in your home for this precious pretty little princess?

INITIAL BIO 07/26/2012: MEET ABBY! She is probably around 2 years old and weighs approximately 5.5 lbs. Abby just arrived today, so please check back later for an updated bio on her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a The Villages Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in The Villages, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in The Villages.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in The Villages already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a The Villages breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in The Villages paves the way for another one to be saved.
