My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Preston, now Louie, didn't like the name. He'll only respond to Louie, so that's his new name!

Update 07/11/12: Hello my name is Preston. I was living in a house with lots and lots of dogs for the first part of my life, but the house caught on fire, some of us were rescued but many of my friends died. I got burned really bad, some places will never grow any fur. But I have been told I am still very handsome. My hair had to be all cut off because of the fire, and being very matted. My foster mom is working with me to not be scared of the clippers.

I have been in my foster home since 7/7/12. Before that I was in a hospital and shelter for several months. I love living in a home, I LOVE being near a human as much as possible. I like other dogs, and cats, but I prefer being right next to my foster mom, or papa Joel as my foster mom calls him.

I do not like storms at all, or loud sounds, like barking. I growl sometimes when one of the other dogs try to get any attention I believe is mine. I am being told I need to share attention, so I am working on that. I don't know what I would do if one of them challenged me, so far they just walk away. Foster mom said they have manners, and she is going to teach them to me. I am learning go potty outside, but someone is home to let me out all the time. I still wear a belly band if they have to be gone for awhile.

I have much to learn, and much love to share. I hope my forever home is with someone who can be with me most of the time. I would really like to have someone all to myself.

Sincerely, Preston

7/6/12 INITIAL BIO: Preston is a Yorkie who has a sad start to his life. He was owned by a hoarder and a fire in the home prompted the rescue of Preston and 9 other dogs. Preston suffered from smoke inhalation and burns to his body. He was matted, dirty, and had little socialization. But he has a spirit that is amazing. After the humane society got his wounds healed, they searched for a rescue group to foster him and UYR stepped in to help. Preston is the sweetest boy ever and is affectionate and smart. Look for more updates on Preston.
