Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Paris is an 4 yr old Purebred Golden and she is pure play! Recently arriving from Kansas, she was found as a stray and has come to make her new home in Colorado. She is full of joy, and in spite of having recent leg surgery, is also full of energy! She is smart, still "puppy-like," and very connected to humans. True to a Golden's reputation, her favorite toy is a tennis ball, followed by any stuffed toy she can carry with her or a Nylabone that she can chew and put in your lap to engage in play! One of her very favorite combinations is playing with a tennis ball while lying on her back to get her tummy rubbed!
She is "mouthy" with a gentle touch and would be best in a home without small children.
She likes to go for walks, which are short at this time while her incision heals, and "offers" to help carry the lead. She will be ready for long walks and a lot of play when she is 100%!
Currently, she is kept on leash to restrict her activity level, and she is protective while on leash; therefore it's a little hard to assess how she will interact with other dogs. It was noted from her Kansas connection that she is friendly with other dogs.
Paris does not seem familiar with cats and appears to want to chase (although she can't with the leash restriction) and may do best in a home without cats. She does well in a crate.
She will need a home that likes to include her with activity and will be a joy to have in the family. She will need training with her forever family as she is strong, excitable, and anxious to get where she's going on leash! She appears very smart! She already knows "sit" and is getting comfortable with her name (Paris is a new name for her). She is very engaging and will do well in a home that loves that Golden spirit! And likes to play!
If you are interested in giving this playful, smart girl a forever home, please fill out an application and one of our GRFR volunteers will contact you soon.
