Chevelle's Story...
Originally adopted in 2001, Chevelle was returned to Tree House May 2012 because her family unfortunately lost their home and have nowhere stable to house her or themselves. Her former family her very much and tearfully hope that another adopter will soon give their sweet, but shy girl another chance at a happy home. Chevelle had a cyst removed from her ear and nose in June, but is otherwise a healthy senior cat making the most out of a sad situation. She is a little stressed and nervous about her new environment so please give her extra love. Her emerald eyes light up whenever she hears a friendly voice or a sparkle wand.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chevelle, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
