Crosby's Story...
Crosby was an owner surrender to a shelter. He is about two years old and loves his toys. He weighs 16 pounds. He is doing well with his foster dog brothers and gets along with cats. He is house broken and goes potty on command. Crosby is neutered, is up to date on all his vaccines and is micro chipped. He walks well on a leash and stays close to his foster mom. He has a fenced in back yard but prefers to lie on the ceramic kitchen floor. Maybe that will change with the temperature! He is always up for a belly rub and ear scratching. He is the color of a fine champagne with a beautiful fur coat and tail...It takes him some times a little while to warm up to new visitors. He has to learn what trust and love are. Not knowing his back ground we do not know how he was treated. Crosby's adoption fee is $350. If you would like to adopt Crosby you must complete our on line adoption application. We require a home visit and vet reference. We do not transport our fosters to their new homes. Crosby is being fostered in Maryland. Our web site is

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Crosby, a Richmond Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
