Tommy was an owner surrender to a shelter. Their reason for turning him in was they were moving. He lived his entire life outside !!!!! We will be getting all of his medical updated including neutering and micro chipping. He does great with other dogs. We just do not know what he went through in his previous home. But with time we are sure he will learn to trust. Tommy is 5 years old. He is very little. Once his medical is completed he will be available for adoption. If you would like to adopt Tommy please complete our online application. We require a home visit and vet reference. We do not transport our Pekes to their new homes. Tommy is being fostered in Richmond Va www.potomacpekes.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tommy, a Richmond Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
