Piper's Story...
Hi, my name is Piper and I'm a bundle of energy and fun! I'm an active puppy and was dumped at the shelter before I reached 4 months of age. Luckily, my foster dad has a soft spot for brindle cuties and I am safe on a farm in the Marion/Alachua County area. I am looking for a loving forever home where I'll get plenty of exercise, along with gentle training and discipline. I'm 7 months old now and weigh about 47 pounds. I'm house-trained, crate-trained, use a doggie door, and know how to sit and shake!! Won't you call Ms. Jody to set up a play date with me? (Jody's phone number is 352-316-5155 - or you can email her for an adoption application at HeflinJ@bellsouth.net!) Thanks! I cannot wait to meet you! - Piper (P.S. There's another video of me, from May when I was 4 months old at http://youtu.be/XKjFD-9h6aE.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Piper, a Orange Lake Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound for sale in Orange Lake, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound dog from a breeder in Orange Lake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Orange Lake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Orange Lake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Orange Lake paves the way for another one to be saved.
