Rebel's Story...
My name is Rebel. I came to Mackenzies from the Allegan County Puppy Mill seizure. My D.O.B. is 1/26/11. I am really sort of a shy guy. I love other dogs and live in a run with a couple, but I am shy of humans. I am getting better though. I am discovering all kinds of new things since I came here. I have met several people and they are trying to be around me quite a bit so I get over my fear. I think I am coming along well, if I do say so myself. I will need a family that has plenty of time to visit me and get to know me. I hear baby steps is the key with puppy mill dogs. Lots of patience. If that sounds like you, please come and see me soon.

For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rebel, a Lake Odessa Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Lake Odessa, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Lake Odessa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lake Odessa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lake Odessa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lake Odessa paves the way for another one to be saved.
