Layne's Story...
Layne is a 4 year old un-neutered Bichon Frise mix. He came to the shelter as a stray and is in need of some grooming but his round little form indicates he's been eating well. Layne is very playful and full of fun, he's touchy about being picked up which may be do to some rough handling or just some sore spots. Layne likes to lead the way on walks but does know how to heel when corrected to do so. He seems friendly towards all people and the other dogs but, since he is a stray, his behavior is unknown around children, cats and dogs. He does well in kennel and it appears he's been house trained. This high energy fellow would probably fit in well with an active household and should enjoy some youngsters to run and romp with. If not claimed Layne will be ready to choose a new home August 8th after 6pm.

If you want to apply for this dog click here.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Layne, a Meridian Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise breeders who help with Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
