Here's what the humans have to say about me:
http://www.valleydogs.org/cholla.html -- My name is Cholla. I am a chi-weenie (Chihuahua Dachshund mix).
Don’t let my tiny size and big chocolate eyes fool you -- I think I’m 10 foot tall and bullet proof! Ask about the story of me holding off two pit bulls! Yes, I can be a saucy little girl, but it is all part of my charm. The flip side is I am a loving little princess who just wants to spend time with my humans and be loved on and pampered. My foster mom calls me Cholla Joy-a, because I make her laugh with my antics.
I was very sick when Valley Dogs first took me in, but they took me to a wonderful vet and with much love and attention I am all better now and just waiting for my new home. Could it be with you? I love to go for walks and explore the world outside, and to go for car rides. I also delight in curling up next to you on the sofa or sitting in your lap. Although I am kennel trained, I really prefer to cuddle and sleep with you at night – I promise I won’t take up too much room on the bed.
I live with 8 other dogs from big to small, and do fine with them, but since I am under 7 pounds, I would probably do best with dogs more my own size, or very mellow bigger dogs. I can be a little bossy at times, I don’t like being crowded, and I don’t always know when it is best not to push my luck in a canine argument, but I do not “start” anything – I just stand up for myself.
I love people and bond very quickly with those who show me love and kindness. Because of my tiny size, it is best I be in a home with more mature children who understand how to handle a small dog.
Would you like to meet me? Now that I am all better I can’t wait to find my forever home and humans all my own.
