Hi everyone, my name is WINTER. I am a very cute little sweetheart that would really love to find a new home. I will do the normal Jack Russell thing and bark and carry on when new people first get here but I settle in just fine once they pet me. I love running around and playing with the other dogs, a couple of them I will get tired of and will let them know I mean business and want them to buzz off. I do like to try to escape every chance I get. As soon as that gate opens up I am on my way out. So I'll need a fenced in yard at my new home. But I really wish you would come and meet me to see what you think for yourself, you might just fall in love!

A Paws***Our little sweet Winter is still a very good little girl and has run of the office with numerous other dogs all day long. And she does great, however when a new guy walks into the adoption center she turns into a little ankle nipper. She never tries to hurt them and warms up to them enough for them to hold her and everything but she is quite the little protector of our establishment. So new guys beware.....this little 14 pound sweetheart won't let you try any funny business!

The Columbiana County Dog Pound is a small, rural shelter in eastern Ohio. At one time, only a small percentage of the dogs entering the Pound made it out alive. Now, thanks to the vision of the County Commissioners, the Pound staff, and a dedicated group of volunteers, the Pound has become a source of hope. It is a place where lives are saved, not lost.
Columbiana was one of the first counties in the state to require that all dogs be spayed/neutered before leaving the Pound. This policy addresses the pet overpopulation problem at its source.
So take a look at our pooches and meet the dog of your dreams!

Hours:
Monday - Wednesday: 9am to 12pm, 1pm to 4pm
Thursday: 9am to 12pm, 1pm to 4pm
Friday: 9am to 12pm, 1pm to 4pm
Saturday: 9am to 12pm
Sunday: Closed.
If these times are inconvenient for you, call the staff and arrange a time to meet the dogs...

The adoption fee is $100, which includes a DHLPP vaccine, a rabies vaccine, de-worming, an Ohio dog license, and spay/neuter surgery. Additional low-cost vet care is available upon request.
Approved rescue groups can pull dogs at reduced fees.
