HALEY's Story...
cOURTESY POST Haley is approximately a 6 1/2 year old Bull Mastiff with AKC papers. She is currently 68.1 lbs and stands 21 inches tall at top of her shoulder. We acquired Haley in May 2007 from a family in Springboro, OH. She lived outdoors with 3 other bull mastiffs and was fed 1 dish of food among all 3 dogs daily and watered every other day. Her fur was falling out, her jaw had been broken, and she was extremely malnourished when we took her from her first home. After getting her proper medical care, nutrition, and tender loving care she has been a very sweet dog. Unfortunately, a few months ago she growled at our daughter and now today she had an altercation with one of our boxers. We are not sure what happened in either situation but cannot take any chances with our children's safety.

Most of the time Haley lounges on her futon and comes to visit when she wants some affection. When she goes outside she likes to bark at the wind and jump around and play like a puppy. She is still skittish when things are rearranged, the wind blows a lot or loud thunder rolls but overall she is very laid back. Haley is housebroken and can hold her bladder for an extended period if necessary. She likes to take walks, go on car rides, go boating and camping. She eats IAMS premium mature food. She is up to date on all shots, heart worm preventive and flee/tick treatment. She does take Proin 50mg 2x/day for urinary incontinence and currently has a fatty deposit on her right hip.

Overall, Haley is a passive dog and these aggressive instances may not have been her fault. We are greatly sadden to have to make this decision to try to find her a new home but we feel that if you can find a home that can give her more affection and attention then we cannot give at this time she would be a great loyal loving companion for someone.

With a sadden heart, thanks for your assistance. family decided tong=keep her at this time 12-7-12

Why Adoption is a Great Option

HALEY, a Carey Bullmastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bullmastiff for sale in Carey, or seeking a Bullmastiff dog from a breeder in Carey.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carey already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carey breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bullmastiff breeders who help with Bullmastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carey paves the way for another one to be saved.
