Scarlet's Info...

I am already spayed, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Scarlet's Story...
So I heard about this book called The Scarlet Letter…and I was like " Wow, how cool…people walk around wearing a letter showing off their support for sweet lil ol me!" But then I learned that wasn't right at all. In fact, the Scarlet Letter didn't have anything to do with me…it was some sort of badge of shame or something. Not quite what I thought….So I think I'm gonna take this opportunity to change that! From now on, I think everyone should wear a Scarlet Letter in honor of me…in support of what a sweet, playful, silly and lovable girl I am. This new Scarlet Letter will be a way for everyone to spread the news that I am looking for a family, where I can play with other dogs, cuddle with gentle children 5+, learn lots of cool new things and warm your lap with never-ending love and affection. Or I suppose, instead of wearing a letter you could just come down to Family Dogs and take me home? 2 years old-11lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes; spay, microchip, reduced cost Training Class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scarlet, a Portland Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund for sale in Portland, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
