My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

THIS IS KARINA....another victim of being dumped in the shelter when her owner died, with no arrangements made for her. This tri-colored, 4 yr old, 14 lb., Lhasa Shih Tzu, has to be the most affectionate, loving dog ever. She loves to cuddle and hug you....and just about anyone she meets almost instantaneously! It is obvious that she was very devoted to her person, as she wants to be as close to you as she can get. On your lap, in your arms, snuggling up against you... she just wants to know that you are there. That being said, she can also be independent....but wants a companion. We learned that Karina had a liver shunt, which we have had surgically repaired, and it was a phenomenal success!! She is a happy, healthy girl again. See for yourself in this and the other video:

She won't require any maintenance except to eat a good diet. She will not be adopted until we know that she is out of the woods (which she is now!!) :) She seems to be potty trained, but no promises! Karina is an easygoing dog who would be perfect for someone who has never had a dog before....as long as you have time and affection to give. She is very playful and has good energy, loves squeaky toys ....loves to go for walks and meet and greet. She would be great with, and needs another adult dog as a companion...and she would be great to take to work with you or keep you company while you work at home. This is a turn-key lover! Healthy, happy and ready for her FURever home!! She is ready for adoption now!!

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We want to give you the time you deserve, so please help us help you!! We will contact you once it has been reviewed.

First Sunday of the month, we hold our adoption events at The Healthy Spot West Hollywood (8525 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, 90069) from 11am-3pm. Most every other Sunday, unless we are doing a special event, we are at My Pet Naturally (12001 W. Pico Blvd., West LA 90064) from 10:30a-3pm. You can see this, and many more, adorable pups at this weekly event! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!!! And don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on events we may be doing! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes.

Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption....and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.
