My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Six year old Truman is a Isabella Dapple and he is a beautiful boy. With his rare coloring he attracts attention wherever he goes. (Isabella is a dilute of chocolate & tan. Think of a Weimaraner's coat color)

Truman came from a home that had over 20 dogs. The owner was moving and couldn’t take everyone so Truman came to rescue. When he first arrived in rescue he had terrible teeth and all the hair had been licked off his back by the excessive grooming of a big dog. We've taken care of his dental issues and without the constant licking, his hair has grown back.

Truman is being fostered in a home with a female doxie and gets along very well with her. He is very shy but friendly with people, but definitely prefers women over men due to some past mistreatment by a man. Truman is just starting to warm up to his foster daddy.

Truman seems to not have had much outdoors experience previously but now is spending short times exploring in his back yard. He has progressed to walking on leash but is quite fearful of loud street and car noises. He responds well to voice commands on leash and is well behaved with a second dog on walks. He loves walking and running on trails and even does excellent off-leash. He is house-trained to go outside if he is kept on a regular schedule.

Truman is the consummate lap dog. If you are sitting, you can expect him to be on your lap. If he is not in your lap, he prefers to be in a safety spot (such as behind a piece of furniture) He is crate trained but prefers to cuddle under the covers of your bed at night.

Truman is neutered, current on his vaccinations and does have a microchip. He had serious teeth issues that have been corrected.
