I am already spayed, housetrained, and up to date with shots.
Hi, my name is Ruby.. I'm a big, beautiful girl who is very lucky to be alive.. I was scheduled to be euthanized at Levy County Animal Services.. I was so scared being in the shelter.. 90% of the "bulldog mixes" never make it out alive.. even if they are good dogs like me.. thankfully my foster parents with Second Chance Rescue came and saved me.. I'm about 4yrs. old and weigh around 70lbs.. I love to play ball, I like my pool, and love "humans"!! I like most other dogs as long as they are nice to me.. I know how to walk on a leash, sit, and take "cookies" gently.. my adoption fee includes a spay, microchip, vaccines, and I'm on flea/heartworm prevention.. Im fostered in the Alachua County area. If you'd like an application or more information.. Please contact Jody by calling, texting, or emailing.. cell #352-316-5155.. SCRWestLevy@gmail.com... Thanks, Ruby
Second Chance Rescue is headquartered in Bunnell, Florida. The Western Region covers a rural area in the Gainesville/Ocala area with a network of volunteers and foster homes. We rescue from Levy County Animal Services. (We do not have a facility in Orange Lake - but that zip code is fairly central to our network of foster homes.)
Come Meet Our Pets...
Most of our adoptions are done following a telephone conversation, application approval and play date/home visit. We do limited adoption events at Tractor Supply in Jonesville (Newberry Road, west of Gainesville). If you are interested in a particular dog, give us a call today!
Our Adoption Process...
Each adoption has an application process, home visit, contract, and adoption donation. The process almost always starts with a brief telephone conversation to get things started! :-) Call today and we'll do our best to match you with a great forever friend!
Thank You! Your message has been sent to Second Chance Rescue - West Region.
You'll receive a copy, too, at

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
