Zara's Story...
Zara is one of a litter of 10 puppies born to Annie Oakley. Zara is very distinctive with her mostly black coat and silky fur. She is very sweet and very smart. Her rescuer has started basic training with her and she is learning to sit and wait for a treat, and to look at you and to lie down. She also knows the room where the training takes place, and since she loves to learn whenever her foster mom walks around, she immediately heads to the training room. Zara also loves to play. She loves toys, her siblings and just about anything. When she is tired, she loves to hunker down on a lap for a snooze. She is learning to go outside but will need some consistent potty training. Zara will make any family a great companion. She will need training and lots of exercise. She would be best in a home with another young dog to play with, and she will not do well alone for hours. She is an indoor dog and must have access to inside at all times.

[Zara was born on 4/19/12]

Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters are carefully screened through our adoption process:

- If you're interested in an animal, we'll ask that you fill out a questionnaire, which we will review to ensure you and the dog you are interested in adopting are a good match.

- You will be asked to submit to a "house-check" to determine the level of safety and adequacy of the area for the dog.

- An adoption fee is required and you must sign the adoption contract agreement, which ensures that if, for any reason, you are unable to keep the dog, he/she to be returned to Forte Animal Rescue only.

- Finally, we personally deliver your new family member to your home.

- Any additional donation would be greatly appreciated, and this portion will be tax-deductible. The donation goes to pay for all of the other animals in our care, many of which come to us with injuries or medical conditions that require treatment. Forte Animal Rescue survives solely on donations and it is for this reason that the adoption fee is nonnegotiable.

- Forte Animal Rescue reserves the right to cancel the adoption process at any time if the home situation or adoptive family has been misrepresented, if certain information was withheld, or if the dog is determined to be a better match with another family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zara, a Marina del Rey Miniature Pinscher puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Miniature Pinscher for sale in Marina del Rey, or seeking a Miniature Pinscher puppy from a breeder in Marina del Rey.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marina del Rey already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marina del Rey breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marina del Rey paves the way for another one to be saved.
