Salim's Story...
If you are interested in viewing or adopting these kitties, please go to www.orphankittenrescue.com/adopt and fill out an application.

Salim was rescued as a baby from a junkyard in Terrace. He has beautiful warm honey-coloured eyes and a long delicate body and legs. He reminds me of an Egyptian cat statue. A very handsome kitty indeed!

Salim is very calm and quiet, and will let you pick him up at any time. He is very trusting and observant. Salim loves to have belly rubs, and will purr and lovingly lick your hand. This is most certainly one of his favourite things. You can tell that he really values these quality-time moments with you. Salim is a cautious kitty, but not shy. He took a few days to feel secure in his foster home, but now runs about and comes for cuddles.

He also loves to cuddle with Kalika. They will snuggle together and groom each other for a long time during the day. Though they are not siblings, they have been together since coming into foster and are very bonded. Salim and Kalika must be adopted together.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Salim, a Vancouver Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
