Lakeland is a gentle, sleek girl who wants little more than to be with her family. She enjoys playing fetch, going for walks, and following her humans around the house. She is housebroken, crate trained, uses a doggie door and has earned the privilege of being loose in the house at night and when her family isn't home. She knows basic commands, gets along great with other dogs, and loves kids. Lakeland isn't a physically intimdating dog but will bark to let her family know if something is up. She'll be a great addition to a family of any size who's looking for a devoted companion.

Mutts & Meows Animal Rescue is a private rescue headquartered near Sugar Land (in the southwestern suburbs of Houston). We work closely with other rescues as well as the Animal Control Departments of various municipalities in the Houston area to place dogs and cats in loving, permanent homes. Our pets live with foster families, so we know them well enough to make a good match between people and pets. Our adoption fees ($125 for dogs, $85 for cats) include spaying/neutering, vaccinations, FEV/FELV tests for cats, and heartworm tests for dogs.
Meet our adoptable pets most weekends at one of the locations below. If there's a specific pet you're coming to see, please email (MuttsAndMeows@live.com) the day before or call the store DURING ADOPTION TIMES ONLY and ask to speak to a volunteer. Please do not call the store outside of our regular adoption hours. The pets live in foster homes during the week so the store employees do not know which pets will be there that weekend.

1. Look at our wonderful dogs and cats. Try to pick just one or two you'd like to meet.
2. Email us to request an Adoption Application. We'll reply within 24 hrs.
3. Complete the application and email it back to us.
4. Our Adoption Counselors will review your application and get back to you within 24 hrs. We reserve the right to decline any application. A home visit may be required.
5. If you're approved, we'll set up a time for you to meet the pet at a location that's convenient for you and the foster. (All our pets live in foster homes around the city. We are not a public shelter.)
