GABBY's Story...
We believe that Gabby is a puppy mill survivor. The veterinarian estimates her to be about 1 year old. Gabby went into her foster home as a pretty typical mill girl. However, since then she has made tremendous progress. She is no longer afraid of the leash and enjoys going on walks with her foster family. She no longer runs around in circles and now enjoys cuddling up on the couch with her foster mom, especially after a walk.

Gabby would love a home that could give her lots of attention, plenty of outside time and even walks, now that she has learned to walk with a leash. She loves playing with toys, chewies, running around in her foster family’s back yard with their two dogs, and giving kisses. Because of her love for the outdoors, only homes with a fenced in yard will be considered.

Gabby gets along with children. However, she also likes to play with their toys and occasionally chew on them or even eat a crayon that has gotten lost on the floor. Because of this I wouldn’t recommend a home with small children living in the same house. Older children or visiting grandchildren would be just fine because the toys aren’t so randomly scattered.

Gabby’s foster family continues to work on potty training with her. They now recognize her signs and if they don’t see her, Gabby goes to her pee pad. Sometimes she misses it, but she tries real hard.

Her foster home has spent a lot of time working with Gabby figuring out what works and what doesn’t work for her, and her foster mom will be happy to talk to any potential adopter about her needs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

GABBY, a Beavercreek Shih Tzu/Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Pekingese for sale in Beavercreek, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Pekingese dog from a breeder in Beavercreek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Beavercreek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Beavercreek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Pekingese breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Beavercreek paves the way for another one to be saved.
