Sweet Sophia's Story...
Sweet Sophia is a one year old spayed Chihuahua mix who was on the euthanasia list at the County pound because she couldn’t walk. The examination simply showed that she had a dislocated knee and a fractured pelvis, all easily treated. The doctor was able to set the knee correctly and put Sophia on a month of bed rest to allow the fracture to heal. Now that the doctor gave Sophia the “all clear” she is ready to show folks what a sweet, energetic, playful, happy girl she truly is. Sophia gets along with all dogs (as you can see in the last photo, she is a snuggler) and all people. She loves to cuddle and rub her head against you like a little kitten, yet has no problem playing ball with the big pit bulls in her foster family. Sophia is also doggie door and kennel trained and a complete doll who would be the perfect addition to any family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweet Sophia, a Mesa Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Mesa, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Mesa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mesa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mesa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mesa paves the way for another one to be saved.
