BLAYZE's Story...
Blayze is a very handsome 8 month old male, red & white Border Collie. He came to us from a ranch in Oklahoma where he was bought by someone who was only able to keep him for 2 weeks and they realized that he had such high herd-drive they could not keep up with him. Blayze is very energetic and wants to herd everything he comes in contact with. He is housebroken and settles down nicely in the house. He will sit or lay by you and if given the opportunity, will put his head in your lap while you pet him and will stay that way forever. He is extremely sweet and just wants to please. He is very obedient, needs some work on the leash, but does not fight it. He rides beautifully in a vehicle and seems to love to go places. Blayze is also a quiet boy unless he gets excited by the other dogs playing and he can't join in.
Blayze should not be in a home with small dogs as he wants to herd them constantly. He would do best with a female his size or bigger. Blayze has not officially been tested on cats, but while he was at the vet's office he had no problem with the cat they have in the office. He would be fine in a family with teenagers to keep him busy. Blayze would make an awesome herding prospect and would probably be happiest in a home that can take him herding. He is very focused on whatever he is herding and has most of the commands down. Blayze also knows how to use a doggie door and will go in a crate.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BLAYZE, a San Pedro Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Border Collie puppy from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
