I am already neutered and housetrained.
Augustus came to New Moon Rabbit Rescue on 1 August 2012 after arriving at a local shelter as a stray.
Augustus is a very sweet and very petite little boy who LOVES attention! He will run to greet you every time you enter the room and could probably be pet for hours and still want more!! He is not very comfortable with being picked up or carried but is definitely getting better!! He would very much like to play with you and keep you company all the time.
Augustus loves his food and is a GREAT hay eater!! Augustus is litter trained but needs a bit of time to adjust when changing homes/environments. He has not found a perfect toy yet as he would much rather interact and play with his family.
UPDATE from his Foster Mum (28 April 2013):
“Augustus is doing great - he loves to run around in speed circles and enjoys being free range or in a pen rather than the cage. I find in the cage he gets huffy and a wee bit protective but once out it's very different. He does NOT bite, loves to be petted and I have found carrying him a lot easier lately. He is so tiny and cute. Loves hay, celery leaves and parsley seem to be the favourites”.
Augustus is patiently waiting for his forever home!! If you have any questions about Augustus, please email us at info@newmoonrabbitrescue.ca

Rescue Group Info...
New Moon Rabbit Rescue was formed in September 2006 with one main goal: to provide unwanted, abandoned, neglected, or abused domestic rabbits with a second chance at human love and appropriate care.
We are a "no-kill" organization dedicated to providing care for rescued domestic rabbits. All rabbits remain in foster homes until such time as they are adopted to loving, caring homes.
All of New Moon's rabbits are in foster care at this time. If you are interested in meeting a particular rabbit you must fill out an adoption application. Upon approval a meeting with the foster home will be arranged.
All rabbits that come into the care of New Moon Rabbit Rescue are spayed or neutered, health checked and if necessary, fully rehabilitated before adoption. Potential adopters are thoroughly screened to ensure that the rabbits will be entering safe and happy environments.
Every potential adopter must fill out an application, either online or by printing and filling out the PDF document. It can be faxed to 613-489-0487. You will receive a phone call within a few days to discuss your application. Please review our adoption contract, which you will required to sign upon picking up your new rabbit. Please note that all adopters must be approved before visiting the rabbits.
Our adoption policies state that we do not adopt to children, however we do adopt to families with children in which children may aid parents in caring for the rabbit. New Moon rabbits are adopted out as house pets only and are not to be housed outdoors. There will be NO exceptions to either of these strict policies.
Our adoption fees are $85 for a single rabbit and $130 for an already bonded pair. All adoption fees are non-refundable, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the rabbits of New Moon. We are wiling to adopt outside of our area, but you must be willing to pick up your new friend.
We serve Ottawa, Ontario and the surrounding areas of Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. We have on occasion adopted as far away as the US. All adopters must be willing to pick up their new friend(s)
