Sunny's Story...
“SUNNY”
Pied Cockatiel
Fostered by Mike & Jen S of Apopka, FL

Hello, my name is Sunny and I am a male, cockatiel about 3-5 years old. I love to sing with the birds outside in the morning and evenings. I am most happy when I am singing my heart to whoever will listen. I am nervous about coming out of my cage, but my foster mom thinks after a bit of time I will be jumping at the chance to come out and get head scratches. I do like those head scratches, gets the spots I can’t reach so well. My foster parents are working on changing my diet from seed to pellets, plus some other things I haven’t been willing to try yet. In my previous home, Zeke the Quaker lived there too and he was a friend I could talk to. The pesky cats and dogs didn’t care to listen to me; plus I didn’t like them much. My ideal forever home will have at least one other feathered friend that I can talk to or at least sing to. What can I say? I’ve got to have an audience.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sunny, a Tampa Cockatiel was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatiel for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Cockatiel from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatiel breeders who help with Cockatiel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
