UPDATED BIO 09/12/2012: Prada here, reporting from Orlando! I am 3 years old and 5.5 lbs! Boy do I have a lot of energy for being such a tiny little pup. My foster momma tries to keep me calm as I am being treated for my heart worms but I do love playing with my foster sister, laying in the yard and eating treats. I am taking my medicine twice a day and am told I will start my shots soon; so my road to recovery is underway! My leash skills are impeccable and I adore walks. I don't have the best potty manners but I am working on them, give me a break, I have a tiny bladder. So yes, that means I have to go out often or please set down a pee pee pad for me. I am crate trained but also love to cuddle a lot so I like to be held, nap on the couch and cuddle in bed. I bark and chase the vacuum and am not a fan of loud noises so if I am in my crate, I love a blanket over top of it to feel safe. I am in need of much love as I have tons of love to give!
BIO 08/08/2012: Meet Prada! Prada is the cutest little 3 year old 5.5 lb little girl who is being fostered temporarily in Miami before she makes it to her permanent foster in Orlando. Sweet little Prada was surrendered by her owner to a high kill shelter. Her adopter was a no-show. What we found out today when we went to pick this little girl up was that she is heartworm positive. It's so sad that something so easy to give and relatively inexpensive is the cause of what will be a long and dangerous treatment. We follow the latest guidelines of the American Heartworm Society which puts Prada at being ready for adoption in 3-4 months. Prada potties outside (she had one little accident) and walks well on a leash. She likes other dogs, but she is shy around new people (especially men). She is a lovely dog. We can't wait to see her blossom!
