PENDING's Story...

This dog went into her new home on August 2nd. We usually give the adopters & the pet an adjustment/trial period before we move the status to ADOPTED. We think Georgia has found a good home though & wish the new family well!

Gorgeous Georgia!

After you meet this pretty dog, you too will have GEORGIA on your mind.

Smart, well-educated, easy-to-walk, agreeable Georgia is looking for a forever home.

Georgia may or may not be a purebreed German Shepherd but if you seek a dog with the intelligence & look of the breed, then this 50 lb girl may be the right candidate for you. Georgia was pulled from a local county shelter & is in foster care in the Cincinnati area. She is friendly to people of all ages, gets along with the next-door neighbor's Labrador & would dearly love to play chase with the household cat (who says, 'Uh, no thanks!'). A peculiar aspect of Georgia is her goofy, curly tail. Most of the time, Georgia's tail will hang like her breed bretherin's in a sort of a low, curved 'swag'. However, when she is enjoying her walk, her tail is liable to curl up, like a possum's would around a tree branch or like the swirl of snail's shell. This is not a common German Shepherd feature but nevertheless makes her interesting & unique.

This 3 yr old has a wonderful temperament. She is spayed, healthy & ready for a home with someone who knows the joy of having a German Shepherd for a companion.

If you are interested in Georgia, please contact Erin (only) & tell a little about your situation (who is in the household--people & pets), where you live (Cinti or out of area) & why you are interested in Georgia. We will request that an application be submitted by any potential adopters that we think would make a good fit for her. Two contact emails are provided.

We're (slowly) building a website & Georgia will be featured soon on that work in progress. There are a few more photos of her on there. We'll be adding more & more animals as time allows us to work on that. We welcome you to visit that site:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

PENDING, a Cincinnati German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
