Ruff Ruff! My name is Champ
|Size:||Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)||Sex:||Male||ID#:||4887896|
I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Everyone loves a lab! You know what’s even better? One that has outgrown his crazy lab-puppy tendencies and is distinguished, polite and affectionate. Well, that’s me - Champ! Life wasn’t always so good. My previous owners loved me maybe a little too much and overfed me. I’ll admit, I became pretty much a couch potato and the extra weight and lack of exercise gave me arthritis. I got so heavy that I couldn’t get around much anymore and my people brought me to be put to sleep (I know, I know..). Luckily my vet saw how awesome I was and how much potential I had. They rescued me and put me on a program. Now in foster care, I’ve lost a ton (haha, get it?) of weight and with some pain meds for the arthritis my life has been turned around. I still have a few more pounds to go and am otherwise healthy as a horse and have all my test results to prove it! I am gentle, mellow and loving. Did I mention that I get along great with cats, other dogs, and people? Well I do. Some bigger dogs can intimidate me, but let’s be honest…there aren’t many bigger than me. My true love is really little dogs though. Do you have one or two I can hang out with? What’s the catch you might ask? Well, I AM a catch (did I mention I’m hilarious?) but I admit I’m scared of thunderstorms. My people are helping me with training and there are plenty of approaches (so I’ve heard) to help pets with thunderstorm anxiety. I am of course quite food oriented. Have you met a lab who isn’t? Me neither! Makes for great training games, just keep my treats weight watchers approved :o)
It’s very important that I stay on my health regime of quality food, arthritis meds and exercise. Sometimes I will try to give you the puppy eyes to stay on my butt, but I NEED you to keep me active by giving me short daily walks so that my arthritis stays under control. I would also do better in a home with another dog or two, preferably smaller than me. I really would love for you to meet me. You won’t be sorry! Love Champ :o)

Rescue Group Info...
Cold Wet Noses is a small group of individuals who take in the dogs that are going to be euthanized on any given day. We do this, when we can (when we have room for them), from Pima Animal Care Center (PACC).(we apologize we can only take in animals from the county shelter off of there rescue list) We bear all of the cost for spaying or neutering, micro-chipping, health care and shots . We're just a bunch of dog lovers who are trying to help as many furry souls as we can. The animals live with us so we know their personally and what would be the best fit for them. All of our Dogs and Cats our part of our family and we want that for them at your home. WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT DOGS TO HOMES THAT WANT TO KEEP THEM OUTSIDE ALL THE TIME THEY ARE NOT YARD DOGS. We love each and every foster and we want you to do so so as well. If they arent a good match in your home we insist that they come back to us until their perfect match is found. We truly believe that there is a perfect pet for a perfect home! Thank you for adopting a shelter dog or cat from Tucson Cold Wet Noses.
