Turbo's Story...
Turbo is now up for adoption! He is a 4 yr. old, beige male who came from a very good home. His dad unfortunately couldn't keep his apartment cool enough for him, and wasn't able to install a window unit. He very reluctantly decided that he had to do what was best for his fur babies.

Turbo is a sweet boy, and likes scritchens (on his terms). He likes both men and women, but seems to bond better with men.

Turbo's adoption fee is $75 and includes a 3 month supply of food, hay, dust, treats, wood chews, a dust bath house, a hanging toy or fleece hammock, and a 75 page care binder.

If you are interested in giving Turbo his "furever" home please let us know!

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a small home based rescue and have been taking in chinchillas for 4 years. We take in approximately 4-7 chinchillas a month. All chinchillas are given a vet visit to check their health, and then they remain in our care for at least 30 days to verify the health status and behaviour of the animal. At any given time we usually have around 10 chinchillas in our care.

If a chinchilla is found to have an on going health or behavorial issue they remain in our home indefinitely.

All of our rescue chinchillas are treated exactly the same as our pets. Each chinchilla has a chin safe wheel, fleece items to sleep on and cuddle with, and unlimited wood chews to keep away the bordeom and to keep their feeth filed down. We use large cages for our rescues and they get daily out of cage time.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Since we are a home based rescue we do not have a specific time to come see the animals for adoption. Please email us, or give us a call to make an appointment to come by.

We do periodically participate in pet expos and adoption days at PetSmart. We also often work with other small animal rescues in the Jacksonville area.

Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fee is $75 for one chinchilla or $125 for a pair. The adoption fee includes a 3 month supply of food, loose hay, and hay cubes. Also included is a 75 page care binder, treats, chew sticks, Blue Cloud dust, a dust bath house, and either a hanging chew toy or a fleece hammock.

We require anyone interested in adopting a chinchilla to fill out our adoption application. We check personal references and a vet reference as well. If the application is approved we have a contract that has to be signed upon pickup of your new furry friend. Not all applications are approved. We are not a "first come, first serve" shelter. We only adopt out our animals to people we feel will give them the best home possible.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We are one of the only chinchilla rescues in the state of Florida. We mainly serve North Florida and South Georgia but do often take in, and adopt out chinchillas outside these areas.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Turbo, a Jacksonville Chinchilla was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chinchilla for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Chinchilla from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chinchilla breeders who help with Chinchilla rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
