Lucy's Story...
Meet Lucy! She is about 4 years old. She is a sweet girl that has been through a lot. She was taken to a local vet's office and then her owners never came back for her. We don't know if she is good with cats but she likes to play with other dogs of her size. She had a tumor in her right eye, an umbilical hernia, and needed a dental cleaning. She is now UTD on shots, spayed, and has had her right eye removed but is feeling better than ever! If you're interested in meeting her, fill out an application at www.savinggraceanimalrescue.com or email Lindsay, lindsay@savinggraceanimalrescue.com for more info.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Birmingham Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Birmingham, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Birmingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Birmingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Birmingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Birmingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
